I don’t know about you guys, but I really dig this whole “drop a few hints and then release some new music out of nowhere” phase that’s occurring in the music industry right now. Now who’s come out to play: Pharrell Williams, featuring the legendary duo Daft Punk.
This past Tuesday, after releasing a short teaser, Pharrell came out with a new song and titled ‘Gust of Wind,’ his first song as a solo artist with Daft Punk. The last time the trio produced music together was back in 2013, when Daft Punk featured Pharrell on their award-winning album Random Access Memories, in which Pharrell provided vocals for ‘Get Lucky‘ and ‘Lose Yourself To Dance.’
This music video shows Pharrell walking up to Daft Punk, depicted as huge stone heads, in the woods. The title of the song appears, and the catchy beat begins as twirling girls in flowy outfits appear all around. With the power of Pharrell’s music, the Daft Punk helmet rocks raise into the air and the robots themselves appear as enormous glowing beings in the sky. This song a great example of Pharrell’s song style and, mixed with the digital Daft Punk flair, this will be a song that will get stuck in your head for hours at a time.
