Who Are All of These Celebrity Lookalikes?

When the Timothée Chalamet look-alike competition was trending, I along with likely most of the world thought, "Haha, that's funny. How random." and moved on. However, in recent weeks, there has been an onslaught of these competitions. The interesting part though, is that with as much commotion as they cause on social media, I don't think I know who actually wins these competitions. And, no, even though Timotheé himself showed up to his own contest, he did not win. Below, I've compiled all the winners of the look-alike contests so far, my personal ranking of how close they compare, and the reception of the public to the winners.

  1. "Timothée Chalamet" in New York

    Winner: Miles Mitchell

    My score: 7/10

Reception: "His Chalamet adjacent looks and chocolate costume is just enough to put him over the threshold. The audience even cheers, “Wonka! Wonka! Wonka!” when he wins." - Nardos Haile and Joy Saha for salon.com

  2. "Paul Mescal" in Dublin

    Winner: Jack Wall O'Reilley

    My score: 6/10

Reception: "Half the lads in Dublin look like Paul Mescal- he has a very standard Irish look!" - u/Ill-Pickle8442 on Reddit.

  3. "Harry Styles" in London

    Winner: Oscar Journeaux

    My score: 4/10

Reception: "They’re all just dressing like him and not looking like him" - u/lkjhggfd1 on Reddit.

  4. "Dev Patel" in San Francisco

    Winner: Jaipreet Hundal

    My score: 8/10

Reception: "Winner was obvious, I had to do a double take 😂" - u/SugarShock94 on Reddit.

  5. "Zayn Malik" in New York

    Winner: Shiv Patel

    My score: 2/10

Reception: "Zayn I’m so sorry" - u/New-Strategy884 on Reddit.

  6. "Jeremy Allen White" in Chicago

    Winner: Ben Shabad

    My score: 9/10

Reception: "It’s a Jeremy Allen White lookalike contest, not a Carmy Berzatto one! This guy should’ve won.Look at the jeans, the white shirt, the hat, the bouquet of flowers and the cigarette! He did his homework and was snubbed." - u/bruzellexs on Reddit.

    Final Thoughts

The Dev Patel and Jeremy Allen White lookalikes take the cake for looking the closest like their celebrity counterparts. As a huge One Direction fan and close follower of Zayn Malik, I really can't imagine anyone coming close to his serve, so it's no surprise I ranked his lookalike poorly. Harry Styles' lookalike gets a bonus point for emulating my favorite Harry Styles era, however, to me he looks a lot more like Matty Healy. I'm not too familiar with Paul Mescal but I think his lookalike came pretty close; so no qualms there. Here are some more responses from other social media users about these contests:

"These are all fun little outings, but for the next 12 months these dudes going to have to answer press questions about their lookalike and pretend like it’s still fun." - u/PizzaReheat on Reddit.

"Im pretty sure these subsequent contests (this, the Paul mescal one) are just springing up to try and coax the actual celebrity man to appear like Timmy did in NYC." -u/Kidgorgeoushere on Reddit.

And finally, with perhaps the most resonant analysis, a user said, “They should make a special award for ‘Not close but really attractive.’”
