Trending How: Halloween Costume Ideas!

Hey y'all!! Ok, so it's about two weeks before Halloween, and JUST IN CASE you haven't gotten your costume already, I thought I'd share some ideas! I did something like this last year too, but they're just so fun!

Ok, so I'm really only going to talk about single costumes this time; these can also of course be done with groups, but they will still make sense without others too!

  • Ghostface

People will eat this up omg. I've seen too many people say very interesting things about Ghostface, and I promise you'll look cool and people will love it.

  • Spider-Man

With the movie that came out this summer, I'm sure it will be fairly popular, but with it being months ago, it's not as common as one might think! Also, no need to go with the full-body suit; I've seen so many people making adorable crochet Spider-Man hats like the one that Peter's daughter has! You can easily get one off of Etsy and then wear almost whatever you want with the same color scheme!

  • Patrick Bateman

Simple, funny, and looks good on everyone. One of my favorite movies, and such a funny character. All you need are trousers, a button-up, a poncho, and blood!

  • Jellyfish

Hear me out with this one: With some of the dresses I mentioned in the last blog, the jellyfish dresses are so gorgeous, and that with one of the jellyfish hats on Etsy, wow.

  • Perfect Blue

Creepy, cute, niche—if you know, you know. I just recently watched the movie, and oh my god. If I saw someone in this costume, I think I'd die. And not just because my clone kills me.

  • Angel

And I mean an Angel, fully decked out, shining like a diamond.

  • Pearl

Not from Steven Universe, although I suppose that could be on this list too, but I mean hair up, overalls, and an axe. If you can't tell this round, I'm really trying to name horror characters other than Jason.

  • Coraline

Eats every time idc. right now on TikTok, people there is a trend of making Coraline-inspired dolls too, and the addition of that to this yellow raincoat-blue-haired costume would just be *mwah* the icing on the cake.

  • Men in Black

Ugh. Beautiful. Once again, trousers, a button-up, a tie, a suit jacket, and bam. Similar to the Patrick Bateman costume. I'm sure you have sunglasses, and you can run to the Spirit Halloween on Roosevelt to get some handcuffs.

  • Mia from Princess Diaries

I love this movie so much, and this is so cute. a super casual princess costume and getting to relive childhood.

  • Envy Adams

Yes, I could say Scott Pilgrim or even Ramona Flowers, but Envy is my favorite, so I'm going to say her as the recommendation. With the show coming out in the next month or so, popularity is going to spike, and I am so excited! This costume would be so fun and easy, as well as moderately uncommon (but still recognizable)!

And for my last solo recommendation:

  • Penny Lane

This is for my mother. She adores Almost Famous, and this costume would just be so good. Once again, if you know you know, anyone who recognizes you is automatically cool.

Now for some honorable duo + mentions:

  • Gravity Falls

Aaaahhhh, I love Dipper and Mable so much; it's easy and fun too!

  • Cosmo and Wanda

Literally adorable. My roommates considered going as them (one side of their room is pink and the other is green, so it works), and I just had to steal the idea.

  • Team Rocket

PLZ PLZ PLZ, this would be so cute!

  • Mavis and Johnny

I have specific people in mind when I say this one, but if you are a ginger with curly hair dating a goth, just saying...

  • Harley Quinn and Poison Ivy

I preface this by saying that if you haven't watched the Harley Quinn show on Max, then you are missing out. But please stop dressing as Harley and the Joker; it's overdone, and he's literally abusive. Be lesbian instead.

  • Princess Bubblegum and Marceline the Vampire Queen

More lesbians I want to see people dressed as. They're also really easy to dress, as they both go through a lot of outfit changes in the show; one just has to have distinctly pink hair and the other black. (You can also go as Prince Gary and Marshal Lee if you've seen Fiona and Cake.)

To be honest, any of these could work as group costumes too, not specifically duos or singles. But thank you so much for reading! I hope you have a great Halloween and pre-Halloween!
