Cherry Blossoms

Grab your bike, pick up a book, and go for a ride

Ever think about taking your bike and going for a ride in the park? Well, now’s the best time to do so thanks to Divvy’s new $5 annual membership fee and the cherry blossoms set to bloom as soon as next week. If that weren’t enough you can even swing by Open Books, a non-profit that sells used books, and pick up a book for only $1. So plan an escape sometime soon and embark on all of these opportunities.

Bike

Divvy is now offering $5 annual memberships to individuals with low incomes, more commonly known as students. I kid with the last part, but this is a really great deal. Now you can ride one of those blue bikes around Chicago at little to no cost. With great timing, I might add, since summer is right around the corner. If you want to learn more go to https://www.divvybikes.com/pricing/d4e-chicago,

Take one of the Divvy bikes over to Jackson (Andrew) Park for a real treat. The cherry blossom trees are set to bloom in the next couple of weeks… in Chicago! Washington, D.C. is no longer the only place (besides Japan) with cherry blossom trees. For those of you who’ve never watched anime, cherry blossom trees are beautiful when they blossom. They are truly a sight to see. Go see them.

Lastly, as a volunteer at Open Books, I can vouch for their extensive collection of books that are in near perfect condition despite having been used. With Game of Thrones in its last season and Marvel’s Cinematic Universe ending its first phase as we speak, Open Books is the perfect place to get all the novels and comic books for both popular series. This weekend all of their books are on sale for under $3. The whole store is your oyster so start browsing.
