I recently was introduced to a band called The Garden by a really good friend of mine. While I had heard the name mentioned here and there on social media, I hadn't had the chance to explore their music much. After listening to a couple of their songs, I was instantly hooked. I was scrolling on Instagram when I saw they had an upcoming show in Chicago, and I instantly got tickets for it!
It was a Vada Vada exhibition, which is The Garden's label showcasing other artists signed to them. They have been around for a while, formed in 2011 in California. They consist of 2 twin brothers named Wyatt and Fletcher Shears, with recognition from various artists such as Tyler, the Creator and Mac Demarco. They are known for the energetic crowd they create and the way they let their audience be free and express themselves how they want at concerts.
When I was walking to the venue, I could hear the music blasting from about a block away. Walking in, the energy and vibes were instant; I had never experienced seeing the crowd having fun and moving around so much before. With their stage presence, the crowd went wild for every song; I was especially happy when they sang "Egg" and "Filthy Rabbit Hole".
I especially love their face makeup and the way they bring their jester from their brand on stage and into the crowd; it just shows how passionate they are about their music and the art they're creating. I hope I can see them live again soon, and I'm excited to see what new music they create.
