This past week I attended a concert for the experimental rock band The Garden. This was my first time seeing them perform in person, and as expected, it was killer! Along with this being my first time seeing The Garden in person, I've also never been to an event in this venue before.
Upon entering you walk through a huge hallway decorated like a classical theatre. At the end of the hallway, there is a huge double-sided staircase that leads up to the venue. Walking through the hallway, you can hear the music booming through the speakers and echoing through the lower hall. After climbing the staircase and turning the corner, I saw a large ballroom with beautiful pillars surrounding the main floor. The ceiling also reached very high and the lights beamed throughout the room. The stage was towards the back of the room, allowing the music to travel towards the crowd and bounce off the walls.
I felt the base shaking the floor, vibrating my feet. The music was beautiful and the band performance was awesome as well. They played many smash hits in their discography and songs from their new EP Six Desperate Ballads. The lineup sent the crowd spiraling into a mosh pit one minute and swaying back and forth rhythmically another. It was hilarious to watch the crowd switch up so fast, but it makes so much sense when you hear the music.
It was one of those nights that felt like a beautiful blur of chaotic energy, music, and unforgettable moments. A perfect reflection of The Garden’s sound and the magic of live music in a stunning venue. It was a literal wonderland!
