'The Crying Nudes' album review + more

If you are fond of Bar Italia and Dean Blunt then you’ll love more artists under the World Music record label. One of the artists on the label are The Crying Nudes. Recently, I have listened to their new self-titled album. It is their first released album as of yet and I enjoy the soft reverb vocals and romantic lyrics that intertwine very well with the slow looped acoustic-y beats. I’m really drawn to the song “blood meadow”. It consists of some crisp and twangy strings toward the end of the song which reminds me much of Dean Blunt dreamy melodies. I love a female vocalist in hazy indie pop with a grungy feel. Someday I’d love to attend The Crying Nudes show if they ever tour the states.

If you like Dean Blunt, you’ll love his earlier project: Hype Williams. He has some upbeat tunes such as “Unfaithful” that consists of lo-fi and dancey rhythms if you’re feeling bouncy. The majority of his album released in 2017, “Rainbow Edition”, has a grainy texture and eerie feel to it than Dean Blunt music. My personal favorite Hype Williams song is “Pretty Young Ting”.

Do check out these artists if you’re a fan of new U.K alternative rock! Stay tuned for my next blog. :)
