It's December, and the holiday spirit has been around for a few weeks. One of the most iconic events that helps bring the holiday spirit is the CPKC Holiday Train. This train, as the name implies, is a brightly decorated, holiday-filled train that travels throughout Canada and the United States. It started making its annual tour in 1999, and since then has raised $24.3 million for people with food insecurity and over 5.3 million pounds of food. The train brings holiday joy and provides free entertainment by inviting performers and artists on the road for people all over the continent to enjoy. This year, I was able to attend the train's stop in Franklin Park, Illinois. The performers for this stop were The American Authors and KT Tunstall; they sang covers of Christmas songs and their hits that a fan would recognize, like "Best Day of My Life" and "Suddenly I See."
The Holiday train will be back in the area on December 7th in Gurnee, Illinois!
