Hey y’all, I hope everyone had an amazing spring break and relaxed plenty for classes to start back up again! Now, I’m generally a pretty upbeat, preppy, happy person…but I do have my days where everything is just a big, fat “UGHHHH!” I call them my “Ugh phases.” Let’s just say my spring break wasn’t the best…and I had a lot of those “Ugh Phases.” I’m sure everyone, at one point in time, has gone through this. The worst part of it all is usually the human interaction during that “UGH phase.” I know when I go through them, I just want to be alone covered in blankets with my laptop and a jumbo jar of Nutella on the bedside table. Maybe a few strawberries to go with the Nutella, if I’m feeling healthy (strawberry + Nutella = life hack right there, folks!)

So I came up with a few ways to cheer myself up enough to get out of bed and do something productive with my life! Here are a few ways:
1. Watch funny videos on YouTube: Jimmy Kimmel with this celebrity mean tweets, Jimmy Fallon with his hashtags and Last Week Tonight with John Oliver’s British accent and awesome political satire.
2. Look Forward to Something: Going to a fun concert soon? How about a payday coming up soon? Look forward to that and I guarantee you’ll start feeling better. Right now, the only thing I’m looking forward to is summer!
3. Pinterest: My one cure for all things sad and depressing! Seriously, I just get on Pinterest and plan out my next outfit I’m going to look for. Jewelry, shoes, bags, the whole 9. I get that this is totally a girl thing to do, but guys can get a lot out of Pinterest too! Y’all should try it.
4. Seize the Moment: Did I just mention virtually shopping? How about actually shopping? Retail therapy is called therapy for a reason and I promise it’ll be cheaper than actual therapy! In all seriousness though, a little shopping always helps fix my mood.

And I’ll look good doing it!
5. Look at Cute Pictures: When I get really upset, I check out random pet adoption websites and start looking at the pictures of all the pets they have their. I LOVE PUPPIES so I start going through the pictures and imagining my future with that puppy. I know it sounds weird, but it feels SO GOOD knowing that one day I will be able to make a better life for a puppy…or 5. You can look at kittens, babies, bunnies, whatever floats your boat y’all!
Hopefully, these ideas help you turn that frown upside down!
