Formed in 2009, The Babies are the love child of the Vivian Girls‘ Cassie Ramone and Woods‘ Kevin Morby. These Brooklyn natives met in the local house party scene and decided to get together along with drummer Justin Sullivan from the band Bossy.
The mix of their lo-fi garage jams with honest, personal lyrics create a comfortable feeling for me. The first time I heard Get Lost I immediately feel in love with the song. I’ve since had quite a few nights looking at my ceiling from my bed in my dark room, The Babies blasting through my headphones and my spirit completely relaxed.
Sirius/XM-U has has been promoting these guys for a few months and giving band updates. They are playing a show at Schubas on April 24th. Tickets are $8, 21+. I have my tickets, do you have yours?
