Summer Manifestation (because i'm tired)

It’s that point in the semester where I measure my days not by time, but by how much work I’ve done and how many hours of sleep I can squeeze in.

There’s paper writing, studying, classes, work — and occasionally I try to watch a movie to relax. When I’m not doing any of that, I’m busy being completely consumed by stress.

It’s not close enough to finals for the adrenaline to kick in, so everything still feels heavy. Which means I have to actually force myself to stay ahead instead of relying on chaos-fueled productivity.

So this week’s post is short, because I’m tired — but I want to write down the things I’m looking forward to this summer. A little manifestation, a little reminder of what’s on the other side:

  • Oak Street Beach days

  • Visiting family

  • Active days that end in deep sleep

  • Bonfires, s’mores, guitars, stars

  • Long days and late nights

  • That first moment of air conditioning after being outside

  • The smell of sunscreen

  • Loud birds and buzzing cicadas

  • Fresh fruit and vegetables

  • Iced coffee

  • Warm skin, freckles

  • Picnics with friends or just a book

  • Cleaning the house with the windows open

  • Pasta after a long day

  • Lemonade and popsicles

  • Driving with the windows down and music loud

  • Putting on the perfect summer dress

  • Beautiful thunderstorms

  • Rewatching your favorite comfort movies that feel like summer

  • Waking up to sunlight already pouring through the window

  • Post-shower, lotion-up, clean-sheet moments

  • Feeling a little bit lighter, automatically

  • Doing absolutely nothing

I don’t have any big trips planned this summer, and I’ll still be working and studying for the LSAT (rip), but I’m looking forward to it.
