Significant Others

I met mine when I was 15. It was unexpected because I wasn’t looking for anything serious. I mean, who really is at that age?

It has now been 5 years with him, and I have learned so much. I have learned that it is very hard to find another person like your first love. He has taught me that I shouldn’t take people for granted. He always finds a way to make me happy and to help me in any situation I am struggling with.

Sometimes I feel like I don’t deserve him because I can be very hard to deal with, and my anger issues get the best of me. Your significant other, whether short-term or long-term, should be there to help you grow and learn things about yourself that you didn’t know before.

Being in a relationship comes with many obstacles and issues that can be resolved. I have been toxic at some point, but I was young and naive, and I regret not letting him do things and taking away his high school years.

Being in a relationship is an experience, especially if you like meeting new people to date. In the short or long run, every person you are with and spend time with will teach you something new. In my case, I don't think I'll ever find someone who thinks of me so highly and shows me why being in a relationship is valuable to experience.

On that note, each to their own, and I will leave it to you to determine if you want to experience this at least once.
