Business woman, singer, actress and performer RIHANNA is taking on this year’s SuperBowl halftime show. With approximately 100 million viewers every year, the SuperBowl halftime show is the biggest showcase a music artist can land. How does an artist score this performance? Lets unravel the Fenty CEO and artist’s career path that lead her to this performance.
Rihanna’s love for music started in her teenage years, as she used music to escape her homelife struggles. At 15, she got the opportunity to audition for music producers, Evan Rogers and Carl Struken. A couple years later, in 2005, Rihanna released her debut album Music of the Sun; however, it wasn’t until 2007 when Rihanna got her big break. In 2007, Rihanna released Good Girl Gone Bad, which led her to winning a Grammy for her song Umbrella. After 2007, Rihanna released many more top albums: Rated R (2009), Loud (2010), Talk That Talk (2011) and Unapologetic (2012). The hard work and recognized albums led to awards, fame and money. Rihanna has won a lot of awards, a lot: 9 Grammys, 13 American Music Awards, 12 Billboard Music Awards and 6 Guinness World Records. She has reached #1 on Billboard Hot 100 14 times and has had 31 songs become Top 10 Hits.
Not only was Rihanna killing it in the music industry, but she is killing it in the cosmetic and lingerie industries too. Rihanna is a strong business women and has reached a net worth of 1.4 billion dollars. At just 32, Rihanna has earned the title of “Americas Youngest Self-Made Billionaire Women” from Forbes.
Rihanna has had a very successful career that is far from over, but my favorite part about her is her authentic character and trend setting personality. Rihanna’s raw self conveys through her vocal abilities and lyrical creativity. I truly believe Rihanna is a flexible artist and can sing anything, from upbeat fast songs like Only Girl (In The World) to ballads such as Love On The Brain. I admire how Rihanna includes diversity into her brands Fenty and Savage X Fenty as well. Rihanna includes women and men from all nationalities, cultures, body types and ages within her products. Rihanna reminds everyone that they are beautiful with her music and products. I enjoy that Rihanna is also a trend setter who wears never seen before pieces with out of the ordinary outfits. When Rihanna was pregnant, she let her stomach be open in her outfits to convey it as art. She set the trend to wear cropped tops and low rise pants while pregnant. Rihanna has blossomed into a successful person due to her inclusion, kindness, movements and uniqueness that bleeds into each and every single project she executes. I am so excited and can not wait to see what her performance will be at the halftime show this year <3
Anyways, you know what I’ll be doing on SuperBowl Sunday… watching Rihanna (just Rihanna)!
