Ranking my Top Five Chase Atlantic Songs

For the past few months, I’ve been addicted to Chase Atlantic’s music. They’re my go to artist for long commutes and intense study sessions, so I’ve been itching for new music by them. Chase Atlantic recently announced their long awaited fourth studio album, LOST IN HEAVEN, set to release on November 1st. They’re also playing in Chicago at Byline Bank Aragon Ballroom on November 8th, which I’ll sadly have to miss because of midterm exams. To those who are going, please share tons of pictures and videos! Here’s my top five favorite Chase Atlantic songs and why.

  1. HER

This is probably my favorite Chase Atlantic song because of how well it embodies the band’s euphoric style. HER is about how money and designer brands can’t replace feelings of pain and trauma. The lyrics highlight spending only day with “her” because of her commitment issues caused by her absent father. The chorus is extremely catchy and the vocals are so satisfying to listen to. I’ll probably never get sick of it no matter how many times I listen to it. As of right now, HER is my favorite song by them.

  1. DIE FOR ME

Chase Atlantic recently released this song as a single before announcing their new album. This was their first release in about a year, so I was super excited when it came out. Similar to HER, DIE FOR ME is super addicting because of the beat and lyrics. The overall style and vocals is very on brand for the band, making it a strong release. I hope their new album has songs that are similar in style to this one!

  1. CALL ME BACK

This song is on my favorite album of Chase Atlantic's, BEAUTY IN DEATH (2021). I consider CALL ME BACK to be the ultimate b-side because it's often overlooked despite being one of their best songs. I like the unique elements of this song, like the voicemail message and unique instrumentals. The lyrics are also extremely relatable, "And if you're busy then I understand it/It's bad timing and I'm probably gonna end up crying." This is usually the first song I recommend to new listeners.

  1. The Walls

I would buy an electric guitar simply to learn the guitar solo in this song (it’s that good). The Walls really highlights Chase Atlantic’s talent and sets them apart from other alternative/indie bands. I really love the build up to the chorus and balance between vocals and instrumentals. Towards the end of the song, there’s a beat of silence before the major guitar solo that blows my mind every single time. I would recommend this song to people who love live and instrumental heavy music.

  1. Slow Down

I love driving around while blasting Slow Down (although, despite the title it makes me want to speed up). Even though this is one of their more popular and overplayed songs, I like the ecstasy and euphoric style of the chorus and verses. I bet seeing this song played live would be life changing. I also really like songs like Paradise and Moonlight, which have a similar vibe.

It was really hard to choose only five songs, but I think these ones are definitely the ones I play the most. I wouldn't be surprised if Chase Atlantic makes my top 3 on Spotify Wrapped this year. Some honorable mentions that I couldn't include are YOU TOO, Meddle About, SLIDE, DEVLISH, EMPTY, LUST, and STUCKINMYBRAIN. I think all of these songs are worth a listen if you’re into alternative music!
