Punk Pop-Up? On The Grid

A boring Saturday night turned exciting and fun.

As I was scrolling through Instagram looking for free things to do in the city, I came upon an Instagram page that had a poster titled "Punk Pop Up," presented by M.A.D Productions. I had seen M.A.D Productions on my feed before due to their recently popular box truck rave: a box truck that had a whole DJ set up in the back and would drive around the city, playing music and 'vibing' around the streets of Chicago. I love music, so seeing these up-and-coming bands was amazing, and just seeing everyone dance in a skate park bowl was something I never thought I'd get to experience. It reminded me of what Fall Out Boy described their early days as, playing in crowded basements and tiny venues, and seeing them headline Riot Fest this week is so amazing. There were also so many vendors, and the M.A.D Truck was having a graffiti exposition. I'm excited to see where M.A.D Productions goes, giving artists a space to showcase their creations; it is such a great event.
