One hug can truly make a difference.
This photo above shows a miraculous moment of the Portland Police Sgt. Bret Barnum hugging 12 year old Devonte Hart during the riots of the Ferguson case.
This photo was taken by photographer Johnny Ngyuen on November 25 in Portland, Oregon.
“I came upon this boy who had tears in his eyes and I knew this was the place to be, so I followed him in the crowd,” Nguyen said.
According to Sgt. Barnum, he encountered a young boy with tears in his eyes during the beginning of the rally. He was holding a sign that said “Free Hugs”.
Sgt. Barnum started talking to the young boy about the demonstration, art, school and life. Towards the end of the conversation, he pointed to the sign and asked if he would get a free hug as well.
The photo above shows the reaction of the young boy embracing the officer in a giant hug with tears in his eyes.
Sometimes, it’s not about who is right and who is wrong.
This picture shows a beautiful moment of two people being there for each other especially in times like this.
