Wow! Where did the time go? It felt like just yesterday we were starting the first day of fall semester and now it’s already the spring semester.
A lot happened this winter break. Some went on vacation, while others laid back and spent time with their family. A very relaxing break it was, but now it’s time to start the new semester.
In my previous post, I wrote about new resolutions and ideas to do this upcoming year. As mentioned before, if you weren’t satisfied with 2013, now is the time to make a change in whatever you so desire. Keep this in mind when starting this semester.
If you were shy last semester, and wanted to be a little more outgoing, try that this semester. Take small steps. Introduce yourself to the kid next to you in lecture, everyone is always open to making new friends 🙂
If your grades weren’t that great last semester, study a bit harder. Not only that, meet up with your professors, form study groups, or even go to the tutoring center. All this can make a big difference.
Was one of your New Year’s resolutions to exercise more? Well, we have our own rec center here! If you’re not the type of person to get up at 6 am to workout, go later in the day. Take some time off to workout. Trust me, you’ll feel great at the end :).
These are only a few of the possible things you can do, but remember that it’s a new semester! Go out and see what UIC has in store for you.
