My Very First Blackhawks Game!!

Hey y’all! I hope everyone here is doing alright and making this weekend fun, yet productive. So…forget the small talk, I’m just going to go ahead and say it! I WENT TO A HAWKS GAME…FOR (ALMOST) FREE!! And it was one of the coolest games I have ever been to!

So, here the’s the story behind how everything went down. My account of the evening, on Monday. I finish with a long crazy Monday and I’m driving home. I get an unusual phone call telling me that students get tickets to the game on Monday for $20. The second I heard about it, my instant response was HECK YEAH, we have to go! Since I was basically a mile away from home, I went home and put on my one Hawks t-shirt that I have and went straight to my car again. I was running out of time since the box office opened at 6pm and it was already 5:20pm. Obviously, they had a limited number of tickets so I drove like a maniac to get there and I made it just in time! This is my public apology for everyone on 90/94 that evening, I’m sorry for getting in the way!!

The United Center was so…big! People were everywhere, it was insane. We just walked around and around only to find out that standing room was all the way at the top. I was a bit bummed, thinking that our view would suck, especially because I’m the shortest person ever! But…our view wasn’t as bad as I thought, it was alright and we could see the puck very clearly!

This was our view!

Finally, the game started and it was just such a thrill being there in person to experience every goal! Speaking of the goals, we won 5-1 that night, to the Carolina Hurricanes with Toews scoring twice. It was such an amazing game. Along with that, during the intermissions, they would have little games with kids going on here and there. As the the third period came along, a little family told us that we could have their seats since they were leaving early because their kid had school the next morning. We got really lucky, to say the least! The seats must’ve been at least a hundred dollars and we practically got them for free!

Unfortunately, the game soon ended and along with that, so does my story. Did you ever get a chance to go to the games? How was your experience? Sound off in the comments below!
