Music by Fruit Salad

Good morning good morning good morning! Rachtheblog here with a post about fruit. More specifically, fruit salad.

Every fruit has a different personality. Pineapples are groovy and fun, while blackberries are introverted and chill. Personalities reflect the type of music one might listen to and even the type of music one might sing. What would each fruit salad perform during a concert?

Well, for starters, a berry fruit salad concert would perform indie music, with magenta and dark purple stage lights swinging left and right during the performance. The band, consisting of a guitar playing raspberry, a drummer blueberry, a keyboardist blackberry and a lead singer strawberry, have a tradition of throwing merch into the audience during their shows.

Song that remind me of their vibe:

  1. “Be Sweet” by Japanese Breakfast

  2. “The Leanover” by Life Without Buildings

  3. “Rose Leaves” by BAILEN

  4. “Eulogy for You and Me” by Tanya Davis

The iconic melon fruit salad, that seems to be the only fruit option at UIC dining halls (no shade), would be a jazz band, with the cantaloupe saxophone player, honeydew pianist, watermelon trumpet and, because apparently a pumpkin is a type of melon, a pumpkin drummer. Their setup would be in a local overnight café, that’s only open for night shift workers. In the dim lighting, this jazz band would feed the mellow ambience.

Song that remind me of their vibe:

  1. “West End Blues” by Louis Armstrong

  2. “Peacock” by Bill Evans

  3. “Breezin’” by George Benson

Now we all know that iconic nursery rhyme that would play around with vowel sounds right? You know, “I like to eat, eat, eat Apples and bAnAnAs.” Well, these two fruits are a dynamic duo and would make an insanely powerful rock band. The honeycrisp apple would be on bass, the gala apple would be on electric guitar, the red delicious apple would be the lead singer, the granny smith apple would be the mad drummer and the banana would be the backup singer and acoustic guitarist.

Song that remind me of their vibe:

  1. “Giant Peach” by Wolf Alice

  2. “Rebel Rebel” by David Bowie

  3. “Rock and Roll All Nite” by KISS

  4. “Hold the Line” by TOTO

I feel as though tropical and groovy go hand in hand, so our tropical fruit salad would be funky disco. Mango, pineapple, kiwi and peach. Of course, after taking a culinary class in high school I definitely know that these aren’t all tropical fruits, but just go with it. These core four fruits wear neon costumes and crazy makeup for their performances. They sing and dance together, with their music prerecorded playing in the background.

Song that remind me of their vibe:

  1. “Billie Jean” by Michael Jackson

  2. “Boogie Wonderland” by Earth, Wind, and Fire

  3. “Pop Muzik” by M

  4. “Night Fever” by Bee Gees

Finally, our summer fruit salad is pop. Classic. The trio of singers, a cherry, grape and orange, started their music career in the cherry’s bedroom, on GarageBand. They soon got popular on Spotify, and have been growing in popularity exponentially ever since.

Song that remind me of their vibe:

  1. “Sexy Villain” by Remi Wolf

  2. “Naked in Manhattan” by Chappell Roan

  3. “Girlfriend” by hemlocke springs
