Lyrical Lemonade's 10th Year Anniversary

A unique element was added for Lyrical Lemonade's 10th anniversary: SPECIAL GUESTS! Here are some facts about Lyrical Lemonade that you should be aware of before reading the recap.

ABOUT LYRICAL LEMONADE

Lyrical Lemonade, founded by Cole Bennett, is known for directing videos and creating content that aligns with hip-hop, rap, and many other genres. They are also well-known for their annual event, The Summer Smash Festival, which engages audiences from different parts of the U.S. and worldwide to celebrate the art of hip-hop. Cole Bennett himself has worked with various artists, including Lil Yachty, Lil Durk, Drake, Eminem, and Kid Cudi. He is also renowned for his commitment to giving rising artists, photographers, and videographers a chance to express their art through his brand. While music is one aspect of what Lyrical Lemonade is based on, they are also known for their community work in Chicago. To give back, they gather fans to clean up Douglas Park annually.

One of the many artists who can pull off catchy lyrics in rap is BabyTron. He collaborated with Lyrical Lemonade to create a music video for his song, "100 Bars." The song is super catchy and counts from 1 to 100 (with more lyrics) within 4 minutes and 46 seconds. Another song similar to "100 Bars" is "A2Z." This song is also catchy as he goes through the alphabet from A to Z, matching the title.

LIL SKIES

Another legend who made our 2016 year memorable, Lil Skies, has been in the game for a while and continues to show his presence in spaces, including Lyrical Lemonade. As he performs, he brings out Yung Bans, Yung Pinch, and Landon Cube. Towards the end of his performance, he tells the crowd, "To everyone, chase your dreams. If no one believes in you, I do." As I heard this message from him, I continued to pursue the dream career I aspired to have, which is that of a cybersecurity specialist.

Then, he seamlessly transitions into the iconic Chicago anthem, "Kll Sht," igniting the crowd. SKI MASK THE SLUMP GOD

And finally, we have Ski closing the night for us. Fans are buzzing with excitement to see Ski and what he has in store. Before he takes the stage, Cole Bennet talks about the Lyrical Lemonade album and surprises us with a sneak peek of the intro. While playing the song, they sample Sheck Wes's track and seamlessly mix it into the intro. As we approach the beat drop, a wild Ski Mask appears before the crowd, delivering his part of the song. I am thrilled to see what's in store for the album!

BRENDISMODE'S THOUGHTS

First off, I would like to thank Cole Bennett and the Lyrical Lemonade team for organizing this event for rap and hip-hop enthusiasts to enjoy. Waiting from 10 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. was definitely worth it, and I relished the opportunity to reconnect with my concert friends and peers in the crowd. One of the aspects I always appreciate about the team is their dedication to allowing others to express their creativity and supporting them throughout the process. I hope to continue attending more events like this, engaging with fellow enthusiasts, and working together to build a strong community.
