Hello everybody! I hope everyone is having a wonderful and relaxing winter break! This week, I thought I’d do a flashback to one of the more popular Humans of UIC posts: The Cotton Candy Man. He was a hit on Facebook and his advice was great so without further ado, let’s get to it.
One of the member’s of the Humans of UIC team, Lee, photographed him.
“Any words of advice?”
“I like the school. School is hard. Don’t let school make you sad. You try your best. Remember this. Work hard. Make your family proud. But enjoy. Cotton candy is sweet, so be happy. Be sweet.”
How sweet is this guy!? He focuses on the important things letting your hard work do the talking for you. He implies that being humble and trying your best will get you places and make you and your loved ones proud. He says to be be sweet, like cotton candy and that was my favorite part!
With this new year coming soon, I’m sure everyone is making resolutions for themselves. And many of them might even include a few things like, “I need to work out more!” or “I want to eat healthier.” But how about this time you include something much simpler like, “I want to try my best in school (or at anything else that you’re passionate about),” or “I want to do something that makes me happy,” and even “I just want to be be nice to everybody!”
So there you have it folks, the infamous cotton candy man!
