The Film’s Poster Wikipedia
I finally got around to watching Martin Scorsese’s documentary on George Harrison, “George Harrison: Living In The Material World” and it was certainly worth the wait.
Perhaps it was the length of the film (almost three and a half hours), but I kept putting off watching it, and finally had some time to devote to it. It’s extremely well done, and Scorsese has been given ample time to devote to George’s story. For me, it contained the right mixture of music, interviews, and archival films and videos to paint an interesting portrait of a great musician and a complicated man. It’s currently available on Netflix “Watch Instantly”, and I recommend it highly. And if you want to hear more of George’s music, I hope you can join me on Monday when I will be celebrating his 76th birthday on my show. As always, the show is from 12-2 PM CST at http://radio.uic.edu.
