After 8 long years, Irish singer-songwriter Damien Rice is finally making a comeback with his third studio album “My Favourite Faded Fantasy”.
Damien Rice has had his share of fame over the past decade and built up quite a large fan base. That’s why it was such a shock when the singer suddenly went m.i.a. at the peak of his fame. After he released his second album “9″ back in 2006, he toured for a bit and then went on a long hiatus. Although he did some collaborations and spontaneous street performances here and there, Damien Rice hasn’t released any new materials, until now.

Although his new album is to be released in the US in November, Damien Rice will be touring both Europe and the United States starting on October 7, even making a stop in Chicago to perform at the Athenaeum Theatre on October 13. All tickets (excluding the ones for his concert in Italy) are sold out. I was lucky enough to get a hold of a ticket to his concert last Friday. You’ll definitely be getting a concert recap from me on the 13th!
In the meanwhile, let me know what you think! What do you think about Damien Rice’s sudden comeback? You can check out a preview of the music video for his newest single “I Don’t Want to Change You” or the full song below!
