Friendly Hello and Introduction

Hello hello, I hope you're all doing well! As I'm writing this it's snowing outside on Thursday, November 21st, and to be quite honest I've felt a little burnt out this week with the end of the semester workload. So, I'm going to take it easy and talk about the fashion style Mori kei!

What is Mori Kei?

Mori Kei is a fashion style originating in Japan around the mid 2000s, which is inspired by woodland creatures, the forest, and nature! It's very cute, typically modest, with tons of layers. Mori Kei typically consists of tights, layered socks/legwarmers, scarves, cardigans, long skirts, babydoll dresses, layered shirts, hats, gloves, with lots of earth tones.

I love this style so much, my favorite color is black and brown so I get so see it styled in a way I like a lot with mori kei fashion, I love the deer-fur patterns, inclusions of buttons, lace, stripes, polkadots, etc. it's also very comfortable and easy to style, perfect for the colder weather :-)

As of late I personally have taken inspiration from mori kei, and have found ways to incorporate it into my fashion, and with the cold weather rolling in it's the perfect opportunity for me to start trying this style out more. Here's a pinterest board I made below for those who are interested in the style, I'm sorry for the relatively short post but I hope everyone has a great break + good luck on finals prep ! :3
