Disney+
When Disney first announced their new streaming service on November 8th of 2018, I was sure that cable was and is now absolutely done for. With Disney being one of the BIGGEST entertainment brands in the world, it was obvious that if they made a streaming service it would get a lot of attention. Viewers no longer have to go to various places to get the content they want. Not only is Disney planning on making all of your favorites from Disney, Pixar, National Geographic, Marvel, and Star Wars available to stream but you also get to enjoy some new Disney+ Originals!
And I know what you’re thinking: ANOTHER streaming service? Isn’t Netflix enough? Hulu? Amazon Originals? Disney+ thought about that too. This is why they’re doing whatever they can to appear superior – and I think they might be succeeding. As opposed to Netflix’s recent strict rules about how many people can stream at once, Disney+ confirms there could be 7 total profiles and 4 simultaneous streams. Not only that, but it’s cheaper. As a college student who finds herself streaming shows and films constantly, this was pretty much all I had to know before I was set on Disney Plus.
How to Get Disney+
The streaming service is now available for $6.99 a month (only Disney+) or $69.99 for the year (which would save you $13.89). There’s also the option of a bundle: Hulu and ESPN+ with your Disney+ for $12.99 per month. (Good news if you’re a Verizon Unlimited user: you’re qualified to get your first year of Disney+ for free!)

Final Thoughts
As we reach day 3 after the official launch, I can confidently say Disney+ is on its way to becoming something much bigger than it already is. Records show the streaming service reached over 3.2 million downloads in just the first 24 hours. As scary as that is to me, I can’t say I’m entirely shocked. Streaming services are quickly becoming everyone’s go-to for entertainment. Netflix and Nickelodeon also recently announced that they signed a multi-year film and TV show deal similar to Disney+. This means past Nickelodeon shows and movies are coming to Netflix, along with some new content. Cable? She is officially dead.
