For the third year in a row, Sueños will be taking over Chicago for the biggest Latin festival in the city. Happening on May 25th and 26th in Grant Park, just south of Buckingham fountain, this festival has music for all ages.
One of the icons joining Sueños this year will be superstar Peso Pluma. Hassan Emilio Kabande Laija, aka Peso Pluma, was born on June 15th, 1999 in Zapopan, Jalisco.
He learned how to play guitar at age 15 and started out writing some songs in his diary, where he would learn how to express his emotions through his lyricism. In 2020-2021, he released various albums and singles, which led to him signing with El Cartel de Los Angeles in 2020, and Prajin Records in late 2021. In February of 2022, Pluma teamed up with Raul Vega to release their song "El Belicon," which was Pluma's first entry into Billboard's Hot Latin Songs, with its peak at #46. After, he released "AMG" with Corrido Tumbado's forefront Natanael Cano and Gabito Ballastros, which reached #1 in the Mexico Songs on February 25th, 2023.
His most iconic and recognizable hit comes from his collaboration with Eslabon Armado a Mexican- American regional music group with the song "Ella Baila Sola." On April 17th of 2023, Pluma and Armado made history by reaching #10 on Billboard's Hot 100 in all of its 64-year history. With a lot of success in 2023, such as live performances on Jimmy Fallon, a collaboration with Kali Uchis, and recently headlining Coachella 2024, Peso Pluma is an example of what Mexican artists can achieve.
Peso Pluma was the cover of Rolling Stone's April 2024 Issue, with an article and interview about his future for his career and music. He also recently announced his Exodo Tour, with Sueños being his first stop in the Midwest and 2nd overall of the tour! If you missed him last year, come out to Sueños to witness his tour on Sunday, May 26th!
