Starting a podcast was something I never imagined would become such a cornerstone in my life. What began as a spontaneous idea with my co-host, Jon, quickly transformed into something much more meaningful: a space where we could bring friends together, share stories, and just talk—really talk. Our podcast, Takis Pod, named from a blend of our cultural backgrounds (Thai for Jon and Paki for me), gives us a reason to pause from the fast pace of everyday life.
Each week, Jon and I dive into different themes, curating Reddit stories ranging from hilarious to deeply moving. What makes it special, though, is the company. Our friends join us for each episode, and no matter the topic, we find ourselves having conversations that are both light-hearted and unexpectedly profound. It’s a reminder that even in a generation where technology often drives us apart, there’s nothing quite like gathering to share, reflect, and laugh.
The joy comes from the genuine connections we make during each recording. We hear each other’s perspectives, memories, and experiences, whether we’re laughing until our sides hurt or reflecting on the moments that shape us. Takis Pod has become more than just a hobby—it’s a way to cherish and deepen friendships, one conversation at a time. Every week, I leave with a smile, grateful for the people in my life and the stories we share.
In a world full of digital noise, maybe we don’t get to talk enough. But here’s to the moments when we do, and the friends who make those conversations unforgettable.
