This past Saturday, I had the opportunity to see the band Boyce Avenue perform at their concert which took place at The Vic Theatre. The band performed in front of a sold out crowd and put on an unforgettable performance.
The concert, which began at 7:30 sharp, opened with an acoustic set by the first opener, Curtis Peoples. Although I missed a significant portion of his set, I was able to watch him put on a very entertaining cover of “Bye Bye Bye” by N’Sync.

After Curtis Peoples finished his set, Kris Allen followed soon after. The season 8 winner of American Idol also put on an incredible show. Allen played songs from his newest album Horizons as well songs from his previous albums like “Live Like We’re Dying“. Allen ended his performance with a special performance of an unrecorded song called “End of the Show“.

Finally, it was Boyce Avenue’s turn to take the stage. Boyce Avenue put together an exciting setlist of their songs from their newest release, “No Limits EP”, their album “All We Have Left”, and some of their most popular covers from Youtube.

Some of the songs that were included on the band’s repertoire were “Find Me“, “Locked Out of Heaven“, “When the Lights Die“, “A Sky Full of Stars“, and a new, unreleased song called “Be Somebody“. The band garnered a joyous response from the crowd who danced and sang along to every song.
For the encore, the band came out and concluded the show with two more songs. The first song of their encore was an intimate, acoustic version of the band’s popular song “Broken Angel” which Alejandro shared that he wrote for his friend. The last song of the night was “Every Breath“, a fan favorite. The band put on an energetic encore which ended the night with everyone having a great time.
Boyce Avenue put on a fantastic concert. It was an incredible experience to see the band perform their music in a room full of people that were having the time of their lives. Boyce Avenue has been one of my favorite bands for years. This was my first time seeing them live and I had a really great time at the show. I can’t wait until they come back to Chicago!
