Hey guys!
So last week, was Diwali also known as the Festival Lights, and the day after consisted of India’s New Year.
Of course, the one thing everyone loves doing on New Year’s is watching a movie!
What better way to start the Indian New Year than watching a movie called “Happy New Year!”! 😀
Okay, typically Bollywood movies are all romantic and usually pretty cheesy, but I have to admit that this movie is far from it.
It’s actually about 6 different characters who all come from different pasts, working their way up in order to earn respect from others because they are constantly being treated unfairly from others due to their background and status.
The story focuses on how they have a plan to win back their respectfully earned diamonds, but in order to do so, they must compete in a dance competition…the only problem is… they can’t dance.
The 6 characters are considered ‘losers’ and are determined and willing to do anything possible in order to get the respect they deserve and even some revenge on others ;).
This movie is far from your typical love story, and it wouldn’t be a Bollywood movie if there weren’t songs! I must admit the songs in this movie are quite wonderful and have a magical beat to them that makes you want to get up and dance every time you hear it.
So, if you have nothing to do this weekend, be sure to check out Happy New Year! You won’t regret it, promise 🙂
